EDUARDO PEDROSO
Eduardo has over 10 years of experience in different corporate matters, including a vast involvement in contracts and disputes regarding infrastructure projects, essentially in the relations between contractors and owners.
Eduardo’s practice includes (i) drawing up, negotiating, managing and enforcing contracts; and (ii) participation in alternative dispute resolution procedures, mainly in claims’ elaboration and its respective negotiations, including drafting and implementing settlements of such claims.
Eduardo also has experience in several other areas in addition to corporate and infrastructure, such as contracts, bankruptcy, litigation, environmental law and capital markets, and participated actively in the Varig Bankruptcy Proceedings (the Brazilian leading case on the new bankruptcy law), as well as in the notorious Brazilian dispute between Opportunity Group and Citigroup regarding the control of several telecommunication companies.
Eduardo Pedroso has a Dual LL.M Degree – Masters of Global Business Law, issued by NYU - New York University and Masters of Corporate and Financial Services Law, issued by NUS - National University of Singapore, both in 2011.
REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE
- Legal assistance, in secondment, during over 4 years, to a multinational German company in the construction and operational phases of its steel mill complex located in Rio de Janeiro (area of 9 Km2 and investment value of € 5,2 billion).
- Legal support, in secondment, in São Luis (Maranhão state) during 1 year, to an international consulting company in the strategic management of contracts related to the expansion of a railroad of the biggest Brazilian mining company (amounts involved around US$ 1 billion).
- Assistance to an energy company in the construction of plants for the generation of energy in the state of Maranhão.
- Assistance to the legal department responsible for engineering and infrastructure matters of the biggest Brazilian media group.
- Legal support in drafting regulations and prospects of investment funds managed by one of the largest financial service providers in Brazil.
- Drafting of procedural documents, appeals and participation in meetings of two of the biggest and most important Brazilian recent cases: (i) dispute over the share control of several companies between Opportunity Group and Citigroup; and (i) Varig Bankruptcy Proceedings, representing labor associations (over 2,800 employees) that together held over R$ 50 million in credits.
